Artists and Bands Generate Revenue with Google AdSense
New Feature/Tool Announcement at ArtistServer.com!
Upgraded Artists on ArtistServer Can Earn Money From Ads on their Sites.
Artists and Bands who upgrade their accounts now have access to the Ad Settings tool, which is located in the My Account area. This tool provides control over the ads on their ArtistServer site and pages. It's easy to use, and changes happen live.
Artists and Bands earn 100% of the revenue generated from the ads on their sites, and receive their payments directly from Google.
The following are the four ad settings options we provide:
1. Use your own Google AdSense account 2. Use ArtistServer's Google Adsense account 3. Use your own ads (JPG/GIF with links) 4. Turn ads off
Before an Artist can begin displaying ads from Google Adsense, they'll need to sign up for Google's AdSense service. Once this is done, they just need to locate their ClientID, enter it into the Ad Settings tool, and they are live!
Where to Find the Google AdSense Client ID:
1. Sign in to your AdSense account. 2. Then, click the AdSense for Content tab. 3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and locate the 'Your AdSense' code block. This textbox contains code you would normally copy and paste into an HTML document. Look for the following line: google_ad_client = "pub-1234567812345678" - your clientID is the value inside the quotes. In this example, the ClientID is: pub-1234567812345678.
If artists and bands would rather use their own banner ads and links, they can select the option to display "Alternate Ads," then create or upload a JPG or GIF image for each of the ad sizes. We use 2 ad sizes - dimensions are in pixels:
1. 278 x 90 2. 250 x 250
Alternate Ads are uploaded with the Graphics/Files Tool, and become available for use in the Ad Settings tool.
What's Next For the Ad Settings Tool?
* support for 'text/image' in addition to the current 'text' option for Google ads * support for channels - a Google AdSense attribute for tracking * support for other ad networks/services * making the tool available to upgraded member/fan accounts
