OReilly Emerging Tech Conference SOLD OUT
The O'Reilly Emerging Technology Conference announced that they've sold out the show. I was trying to locate more information on this, in particular, what the capacity of the show is, but they don't have that information posted on the site. Although, in the Exhibitor Prospectus, they state an expected attendance of 800+.
Another bit of information I found in the Prospectus that was interesting, was the attendee profile - which is a chart illustrating the various expected populations at the show. I hope O'Reilly doesn't mind that I took a screenshot of this chart to post here.
I like how they grouped the pie chart, (although, I'm not sure if it was intentional) there is a division of roles right down the middle. The left side, you have the machine, and on the right, the feedback mechanism - which ultimately decides which machine is worthy of our attention. I'd like to think that the grouping was not intentional, especially since you can see the percentages descend on one side and ascend on the other.
More news about the conference... I spent part of last night fixing up my old Win98 laptop and will have it at the conference, which means I'll make an effort to blog about the show while I'm there. Unfortunately, Skype doesn't run on Win98, so I'll be disconnected from my VoIP/IM solution of choice.
Last item - I'll have some ArtistServer and "Kiss My RSS" t-shirts to give away at the conference. If you see me at the show, walk up, and do your best version of a disco dance, and a shirt will be yours! Here's a recent photo - although I'll probably have my hair pulled back for the conference.
