I wonder how much. I didn't see that one coming. It makes me wonder how many times Last.fm has been approached. Seems like Google would be trying to talk to them.

As much as I would love to see a good company like Google buy Last.fm. The idea scares me as well. Last.fm has done well for themselves without any help. The service is well worth the $3 / month fee. I have tag stations for work, coding, relaxing and everything else. I love their new setup and the new player application. The tagging system could use a bit of work, but it's looking fantastic as it is.
I'm just scared of some "big boy" coming in and taking over a great community and service and changing the focus from users and their music to advertising and money making.
As for Webjay, well you know my opinion about that. It's stupid, mostly illegal and I can't imagine why Yahoo! is so interested in it. All I can see is Yahoo! is looking for the userbase or a new place to put their targeted ads.
